Reblog: “A Good Lesson From a 95-Year Old Warrior”

“A Good Lesson From A 95-Year Old Warrior”
a blog post by Mark Altrogge for The Blazing Center

I’m not that old. It’s my third year in college! And yet in the past several weeks, I have seen friends of mine have to deal with death. I’ve seen people suffer. I’ve suffered. All these things are a result of the fall, so they will be with us until the redemption of creation. This post is a good reminder of the perspective that we as believers ought to have in the midst of suffering and death. And because the post centers around Mark’s dad, who is a war veteran, Mark provides a helpful modern day perspective of what it means to “fight the good fight” (2 Tim. 4:7) and to be a “good soldier” for the name of Christ (2 Tim. 2:3-4). Whether you’re suffering now or preparing for it later, take a few moments to read this article–it’s a great reminder that in the midst of war, our hope in Christ is powerful and real.
