Reblog: “God’s Sovereignty and Human Irresponsibility”

“God’s Sovereignty and Human Irresponsibility”
a blog post by Amos Yang

Amos Yang is a former undershepherd of Grace on Campus at UCLA. He has some strong convictions about the stewardship of education. In this blog post, he takes a look at the principle found in Matthew 15:21, where the master who represents Christ says, “‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much.” Amos makes an excellent point that an understanding of how God has ordered the universe should cause us to desire to be better stewards of what we have been given–here he thinks particularly about education and job interviews–because God chooses to bless those who have been faithful previously. I am thankful for Amos’s sermon at our spring retreat last year on the stewardship of education, which has helped me think about how I can be a better steward of this opportunity I have been given.
